  • INTD 390 Playful Narratives at Graceland Cemetery / experiential learning option 

    Open to all DePaul undergraduates!

    All backgrounds and skill-levels welcome!

    We need writers, game designers, historians, interaction designers, researchers, communicators, technologists, visual artists, storytellers, sound designers, and many more!

    Spring Term 2026: Thursdays 1.30pm to 4.45pm

    Location: Loop Campus and Graceland Cemetery

    Instructor: Dr. Richard Wetzel, School of Design

    • Interdisciplinary project-based class in collaboration with Graceland Cemetery in Chicago’s Uptown - a large and beautiful garden cemetery!
    • Explore location-based games and interactive fiction!
    • Venture into the Graceland archives and research lives (and deaths) of real people and history!
    • Build small story-focused analog or digital games for the public to play at Graceland!

    Experience games with a purpose beyond entertainment while learning about the social contract and democracy by role/playing real history during the time of 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago - and comparing/contrasting U.S. and Chicago today.
